How does the test work? What actually happens at the lab?

We use shotgun metagenomics, an advanced sequencing technology that captures the full picture of your microbiota down to the species level along with other key actors like virus, fungi and parasites.

How long can my sample be stored? Do I need to refrigerate it?

The buffer solution (liquid) in the test tube preserves your sample so it can be kept at room temperature after you collect your sample and mix it in the tube. We recommend mailing it as soon as possible after collection, but if circumstances require you to wait a few days or even a week, your results won’t be affected.

I used the 2 provided “FecesCatchers” but didn’t successfully capture a sample. What should I do?

Capturing a sample can be tricky! Feel free to contact us at help@tend-health.com to request a replacement of the paper “FecesCatcher” and review this video for some helpful tips.
